Party Finger Food Ideas

Posted by sincere | Tote Articles | Wednesday 22 February 2012 1:40 am

Party finger food ideas can be anything from a tasty little appetizer to really anything delicious that can be cut down to size. Veggies and dip, chicken fingers, nachos, finger sandwiches, meatballs, cheese, crackers and an assortment of cold sausage meats are easy to prepare and always appreciated.

Crab dip that contains salsa and cream cheese, salmon dip made from cream cheese, fruit and nut logs also contain cream cheese. Any of these can be made mild or spicy.

Tote

Cocktail wieners, shrimp, scallops wrapped with bacon, pot stickers, mini tuna melts and crescent rolls with cheese and ham are just some of the things that can be served.

If you are planning to serve an informal meal, think of things that are easy to place in a buffet style table. Casseroles, buns and deli meats, cheeses, salads of at least three different kinds such as vegetable, potato, and fruit to add color, texture and something for everyone.

Party food ideas vary widely depending on nationality and traditional foods of the place that you reside in, as well as who your guests are and where they come from. Birthday party food can be finger foods, buffet style foods, picnic or barbeque foods depending on the age group, the time of year and where you have the birthday party.

Traditionally, birthday food always comes to the climax with the entry of the birthday cake glowing with candles. People more often these days are tired of cake and want something different. Strawberries and cream, mud pie, fruit cocktails and banana splits made in a huge bowl, to name a few ideas, will support sparklers or candles. The important thing is to have fun and use your imagination.

Tote the Note – Buy Here Pay Here

Posted by sincere | Tote Articles | Tuesday 7 February 2012 1:55 pm

Poor Credit, Bad Credit, No Credit, No Problem.

We Tote the Note.

Tote

All of these are common signs you see at some used car dealerships and flashed across your television screen. However, do you really understand what goes behind this concept?

A Tote the Note dealership is really no different from the concept used at furniture rental companies, in that you pay for the car where you purchased it without any loan company in the middle. However, there is still a huge difference between a furniture rental company and a Tote the Note car dealership – Your Credit Report.

When you are searching for a new or used car, you will probably spend more time in the office with the car salesman and his manager trying to get your loan bought from a lending company. The way this is done is, you fill out a credit application, the car salesman, takes it to his manager who then punches your information into a computer to run a report on your credit. When they receive your credit report or credit score they will then fax this information to loan companies they use to finance the cars they sale. Now, the loan company will look over your credit report and decide if they wish to buy your loan. This means that you will by paying the loan company back the money they give the car dealership for the car that you purchase. If you do have poor credit, bad credit, no credit, or a bankruptcy on your credit report, you will more than likely be turned down for the car loan or you will get the bad news that you have to add 21% percent interest onto the price of the car. The bottom line is that you will paying about the same amount of money each month for that used car that you pay for rent or purchasing your home just because your credit is not up to par.

Furniture rental companies do the same, they look at your credit report and if your credit is not what it should be then you may not be able to rent to own their furniture either.

On the other hand, Tote the Note car dealerships do not look at your credit report. They will ask you to fill out an application, but the information they need is where you work, how much money you make, nearest relative’s address and telephone number, and of course, your address. The only thing you really need to purchase a used car from a tote the Note lot is a job.

A tote the Note car dealership receives cars from other people that trade in their vehicle in order to purchase another one, buy them from auctions, or other individuals. In most cases, the dealership has a mechanic that will fix major problems that are found with the car; however, you will be purchasing a car without any type of warranty. This means if something goes wrong with the car the dealership will not fix it for you, you will have to pay for all repairs. This is normally called “sold as is”.

The good part about buying from a tote the Note lot is that you will not have to pay any interest. The price on the car is what you pay. The normal time to pay for the car is usually around 12 to 18 months. You will have to pay a certain amount each month until the total price of the car is paid off minus whatever down payment you may have. Some Tote the Note lots also offer “no down payment”, but this will raise your monthly payment.

Buying from a Tote the Note car dealership will not affect your credit rating in anyway. These car dealerships do not report your payments to the credit bureaus, however, if you default on the loan that is not reported either. If you do not make your payments, the Tote the Note car lot will repossess your vehicle and put it back on their lot for sale.

If you have bad credit, no credit, or other problems that stop you from purchasing a car through a loan company, then a Tote the Note car dealership may be your best bet in getting a car. Remember, to check the car out and test drive it since you will be the one paying for any repairs once you sign the agreement and drive off the lot. You do not want to drive the car a couple of blocks and it die on you, because then you will have to pay for repairs and keep up with your monthly car payment.

Make A Rag Quilt – Easy Instructions

Posted by sincere | Tote Articles | Friday 13 January 2012 10:30 pm

We have several of these quilts made by my mom and she used flannel, which makes the quilt very soft. Flannel is a good choice because you need to choose fabrics that will ravel and fray. This project is quite easy (if you can sew a straight line and have patience) and could make a wonderful baby/child gift if made with Disney Flannel.

No batting is needed if you use flannel because the flannel thickness is sufficient to give your rag quilt a

substantial feel. You may use batting to make your quilt thicker, and these instructions will describe both with and without batting. You can also use more flannel as a filler if you want to, but this is optional.

Tote

There will be two layers for this quilt: top (frayed side) and a bottom. Cut Squares for the top and the bottom the same sizes. 8″ to 10″ is about right for a large quilt but you can make them larger if you want to simplify or make them smaller if you are up for more detail or are making a smaller quilt.

Determine the amount of material and squares you will need: If the quilt size you would like is 64″, you will need eight 8″squares on a side, times 8 rows or 64 squares. These squares will be 10″ by 10″ to allow for the ragging, so you will need a total yardage of about 5 sq yards for the front and 5 sq yards for the back. For a baby size quilt (36″) you will need about 1 1/2 yards for the front and 1 1/2 yards for the back (assuming 36″ fabric width). For a child or baby size quilt you will probably like to use smaller squares. You could use a 9×9 pattern with 4 inch squares (6″ cut square size) or a 6×6 pattern (with 8″ cut square size). Experiment with square sizes to get the look you like. This is a good opportunity to use Fat quarters for a variety of patterns.

Cut 64 squares, each 10″ square of your top and bottom fabrics. Use a variety of flannels combining different patterns and solids. Lay out the squares (on a floor will do) to see the overall effect and to determine how you will want to sew the pattern blocks together.

If you decide you want to use batting as a filler, cut the squares of batting 2 inches smaller than the top and bottom squares. If your quilt has 10 inch top and bottom squares, you would cut the batting at 8″ or less. You will need to quilt the squares before you join them into the quilt. Create a sandwich with your top square, batting and bottom square, then sew an “X” through the sandwich before joining them together. You do not need to do this step if you are using flannel. Keep the right sides out (on both the top and bottom).

When making a rag quilt without batting, you can use your same material as your filler if you want the blanket to be heavier. In this case, the filler pieces can be cut the same size OR Smaller as your top and bottom squares, and you should join the 3 pieces of material together to form a block prior to joining all the quilt blocks together. For filling squares you can use any kind of flannel (but if you cut it the same size as the top and bottom squares you will see it when you fray edges). Inexpensive flannel from your local fabric store is fine for this purpose. If you do not want to see the filler flannel, make it smaller than the top and bottom (similar to the instructions for the batting above) and stitch it in place using an X, or a stitching pattern of your choice. You don’t have to have a filler if you don’t want to.

To sew a rag quilt: Use a 1 inch seam allowance so that you have extra fabric on the seams for raveling. A 10″ square will be an 8″ sewn square. We will use as an example a quilt with 10″ squares which will be 64″ x 64″. Adjust for your chosen size squares.

Once your blocks are made, sew blocks together with ONE INCH seams, 8 sets of squares into a row. You will sew so that the raw edges are toward the front/top face of the squares. All blocks face front so that you can have them showing from the front of the quilt. Make 8 rows of 8 squares each.

Next, sew rows together, matching seams. Sew with raw seams toward front of quilt. Sew the seams open to reduce the bulk of sewing over seams turned to one side.

After you have joined the 8 rows, sew an inch inside the outer border all around the quilt.

Cut the seams: This will take a while. With sharp scissors snip into the one inch seams, being careful not to cut the seam. Make a cut every 1/2 inch or so. Cut the outer edge the same way. A spring loaded pair of scissors is a good investment if you are going to make more than one quilt.

Wash to Fray: Run the quilt through a regular cycle of wash and drying. You may have to run it through a few times to make the edges soft and frayed.

Cricut Expression – Which Cricut Tote Bag Works Best For Your Expression Machine?

Posted by sincere | Tote Articles | Monday 9 January 2012 2:45 am

A Cricut Tote bag is a perfect solution for transporting and even storing your cricut machine at home when you are not using it. The Totes can also be used to store assorted Accessories including your cartridges and toolkit. The Cricut Totes typically offer foam padding to protect your machine and also other various pockets for many of the tools that you might need.

The larger Cricut Expression machine is sometimes viewed as the machine that should not be carted around. A Cricut tote can be used to store the machine at home, but many croppers like to be on the go and go to crops. Bringing their machine along is a must, so there are now Bags that are made big enough to specifically handle the Expression machine. When looking for a Cricut tote for your Expression, make sure that the tote is large enough to handle the bigger machine. Tote descriptions specifically mention if the tote is big enough for the Expression machine.

Tote

One popular storage tote for the Expression is a wheeled rolling bag. Velcro Straps and a sturdy bottom give strength and extra support so the bag can handle the bigger Expression. The wheels are strong and the handle makes it easy to pull along with you. The extra handle also makes it possible to carry these without the use of the wheels. The fun part about these totes is there are different ones available in stylish colors.

Another option that is available for the Expression is a Cricut Shoulder Bag. Picture a large sport bag and you have a good idea what this tote is like. It is water proof, which is important when transporting an electrical appliance. This bag makes carrying the Cricut and extra cartridges a breeze because it is very roomy. The adjustable and padded shoulder Strap makes the bag comfortable to carry. It is also available in different colors so look around for the color you like.

Simple Nail Designs You Can Do Yourself

Posted by sincere | Tote Articles | Wednesday 4 January 2012 6:50 am

Believe it or not, you do not have to be an artist to do your own nail designs. However, nail designs are a type of art and like art, you start off with basic shapes and keep adding details along the way. And also like art, simplicity is visually pleasing. Here are a few simple nail designs you can try yourself. If you are a beginner, start with the easy ones first to get practice. If you are a beginner or an expertise and desire more complex designs with ease, try Konad.

Random Lines- This look may be the easiest to achieve because of its abstract nature. To do, apply one coat of colored nail polish to your nails. My suggestion is red. If you are giving yourself a pedicure, you only have to apply the nail design to each of your big toes. Nail art brushes that you find at any beauty store are the easiest to use when doing nail designs, but if you do not have one, regular nail polish will do. You can also use a toothpick. Take black nail polish and make thin, random strokes that start at the base of your nail and shoot up from there. It is important to have very little nail polish on the brush so that you do not end up with globs on your nail. It is also important that your lines are thin. Your lines can start from the same point each time or you can have the lines come from different places. Two-three black lines per nail should do it. Apply a coat of clear nail polish and you are done!

Tote

Flowers- Flowers are a good starting point because if you are a beginner, your accidents can easily be made into flowers. To start, choose what color you want the middle of your flower to be. Yellow and white are popular colors. Then, place a dab of nail polish on your nail. Choose a nail color for the actual flower and make several dabs around the first dab you made. You have now created a flower. Do this with each nail. Creating flowers to the side of the nail look more professional. You do have one more option. Using a toothpick or a thin nail art brush, fill in a circle for the center of the flower. Then draw small circles or ovals around it to create a flower. You do not have to fill in the circles with nail color. You can simply draw a center and have a bunch of small lines emanating from a central point. With this method, you only have to use one color, instead of two, to create your flowers. It is your preference.

French Manicure or Pedicure- The French manicure is relatively simple, but following the natural curve of the nail is challenging. First, apply a coat of clear nail polish to each nail. Then take white nail color and apply it to only the tips of your nails. Some people like to use nail art brushes-those nail polishes in a skinny bottle that come with a skinny brush. It is easier to form a curve with these brushes, but they are not necessary. You can sweep the white nail color across each nail from left to right. The other option is to apply the white nail polish just like you were applying nail polish to the entire nail. In other words, apply the nail color the long way but only do the tips. Either way works, and there are now French manicure pens available to make the process even easier. Don’t give up. Do all of your nails and you will be surprised at how well they turn out. They may not be perfect, but most people will be looking at them from a distance. For a pedicure, you can get away with only having nail designs on your big toe. For hands, you can cover any mistakes by purchasing a nail art brush in silver. Run the silver polish along the curve where the clear nail polish meets the white nail polish. This will form a silver line that will hide your mistakes and add an air of sophistication as well. Apply one more coat of clear nail color and you’re done.

French Manicure with Gems- Nail decals are a simple and easy way to make your nails look professional. To do, give yourself a French manicure or pedicure. Pick up one of your nail gems with a pair of tweezers and place it on top of your nail. You can choose to place just one nail decal, or several, on each nail.

Watermelon Surprise- This nail design may look difficult, but remember that it is only a compilation of basic shapes. Apply pink nail color to all of your nails. Polish the tips of your nails with an off white or pearl color. Using a nail art brush or toothpick, trace the other edge of your nail with dark green nail color. You should now have a thin, green line along the outside of your nail. Add 4 black dots to each corner of the nail and one black dot in the middle and you are finished.
